Building Stronger PT and Prosthetist Collaboration
Our recent FebCE educational session was a powerful reminder of how collaboration can drive better outcomes for the amputee community when clinicians come together with a shared goal.
We welcomed 16 physical therapists and PT students from across Central New York, including professionals from Upstate, Onondaga Physical Therapy, and private practice settings. The room was filled with thoughtful discussion, hands-on learning, and genuine excitement around expanding skills and strategies to better support individuals with limb loss.
Throughout the session, attendees were highly engaged. They asked insightful questions, shared real-world experiences, and explored new techniques that can directly impact patient care. These types of conversations are exactly why events like this matter. When physical therapists and prosthetists collaborate early and often, patients benefit from more cohesive care, smoother transitions, and stronger long-term outcomes.
We are especially proud to serve as a resource and connector for our local physical therapy community. Coordinating opportunities like this helps us strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and continue building a true care team approach in which everyone works together toward the best possible results for the people we serve.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a successful session. We look forward to continuing the momentum and hosting additional educational events in the future. Our goal is to ideally offer two CE opportunities each year, giving clinicians additional chances to connect, learn, and collaborate. Stay tuned for details on our next CE event.
